What is the likelyhood that I am pregnant?

I will be 50 this December. I usually have a 26-28 day cycle and it's now been 41 days. I've been this late only twice before now. My husband and I have been completely monogamous, practicing unprotected lovemaking for 28+ years , have two grown children and a grandchild. Could I be pregnant , or am I experiencing pre-menapause? I am afraid to take a test or go to the doctor. What other explanations can there be for me to be this late?
