What is the average cost to get a cat de-clawed?

Look, I know it changes the cat entirely and it is the cruelest thing you could ever do to your animal, but quite frankly I have a different case at hand so please don't even patronize me about this. My cat has been tearing himself apart for the past several months, and I've done absolutely everything to avoid coming to this decision. We've put a cone on him, applied medicines, bathed him every few weeks, and he still manages to destroy himself. I don't know why or when this happened, but it's come to the point where we take extreme measures or just let him kill himself. I desperately wish to refrain from de-clawing him because I love him so much, but I just can't stand to see him like this anymore. Can somebody please help? I'm desperate!!
