Post A Level options? Is Uni the only route to a successful career?
Until this year I would have said public service or working for the NHS would be a good alternative. However with government cutbacks opportunities, I feel, are limited. Other than getting a degree the only other option I know of is computers and in particular computer networks. If you can understand computers, a bit about programming, and understand networks then you do not need a degree. However if you considering sociology or psychology as a foundation degree then my advice to you is do not waste your time or money. NHS is cutting jobs including the mental health trusts and without at least a masters degree in psychology there is almost no job prospects in the UK in that field. My advice is two fold either learn computers or go to university.
